Do you want to disinfect your vehicle interior quickly and effectively?

A clean interior free of pathogens is of great importance. A taint-free interior is especially important for (lease) cars and vehicles that are used by several people, but also for taxi and bus companies and fleet operators, for example. Progress's UV-C Disinfection Device is the solution. It eliminates more than 99% of bacteria and viruses with ultraviolet light: quickly, effectively, safely and without drying time.

    Advantages UV-C Disinfection Device

    • No solvents and harmful substances
    • No drying time as with “wet” cleaning
    • Consistent quality, reproducible result
    • Operable by app, fast and safe
    • Easy installation
    • Contribution to lower absenteeism due to illness among your employees
    • Geringe CO2 footprint door lokale productie
    • Lamp housing available in different colors to match any car interior
    • Lamp replaceable (not a disposable product)

    Safety

The UV-C Disinfection Device only turns on when no one is in the car. There is a built-in radar that switches off the lamp as soon as movement is detected in the car. Movements outside the vehicle have no influence on this.

    UV-C technology

UV-C technology emits ultraviolet (UV) rays that destroy bacteria and viruses by breaking down the DNA and RNA in their cells. UV-C disinfection is a proven cleaning method. Renowned hospitals apply the UV-C cleaning method for disinfecting operating rooms, surgical instruments, etc

    Frequently asked questions

    What is UV-C?

At the end of the 19th century it was already discovered that UV-C light can kill bacteria and other micro-organisms. UV-C technology emits ultraviolet (UV) rays that are invisible to our eyes that destroy bacteria and viruses by breaking down the DNA and RNA in their cells. UV-C disinfection is now a proven cleaning method. For decades, hospitals have been using the UV-C cleaning method to disinfect operating rooms, surgical instruments and hospital rooms.

What is the UV-C Disinfection Device?

The Progress UV-C Disinfection Device is designed for the controlled and repeated cleaning of surfaces in areas without the use of liquid, such as for example a car interior. The device can easily be connected to a 12V or 24V connection using the supplied connection material and the installation instructions.

How do I operate the device?

The device is operated with an app that can be downloaded from the store (available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store). The device is equipped with a protection and switches itself off automatically if someone comes close while the lamp is switched on. The operating time can be set and depends on the size of the interior. For a passenger car and small light commercial vehicle you should think about 15 minutes, while this is double that for a large cabin of a truck.

    Why UV-C?

Cleaning and effectively disinfecting the interior of a vehicle, for example, has become increasingly important. But this has to be done carefully, because scientific research shows that an average of 629 bacteria per square centimeter lives in a car in the dirtiest places. The UV-C Disinfection Device tackles the pathogens with a high-quality result and can be used again quickly, without having to take drying time into account. The device was developed together with a specialist in UV-C applications.

For whom is the UV-C Disinfection Device suitable?

We think of companies that have a large fleet, especially in the food industry, construction companies, garbage trucks, taxis, shared cars to private individuals and everything in between. There is also a world of applications outside the automotive industry, such as public toilets or toilets at festivals, at construction sites, etc. The device is extremely suitable for the entrepreneur who considers CSR of paramount importance. This product fits very well in the current time where you make an effort to provide good for your employees and an (almost) virus-free working environment. Which, for example, leads to less absenteeism.

Where is the UV-C lamp mounted?

With the help of the supplied manual, mounting material, cabling and fuse, the lamp can easily be placed against the roof in a central place in the interior.

Does the UV-C light get everywhere?

The more intense the UV rays, the more effective is the effect on bacteria and viruses. The intensity of the light decreases with increasing distance. This means that the effectiveness for the footwells is less, so that 15 minutes is certainly the minimum time to eliminate as many pathogens as possible.

    Can this device defuse COVID-19?

In a laboratory set-up at Boston University, UV-C light has been shown to result in a 99% reduction of surface COVID-19 virus with UV radiation of 22 mJ/cm2 at an exposure time of 25 seconds. The radiation intensity of the Progress UV-C Disinfection Device is lower, but due to the longer radiation duration, the COVID-19 virus will be eliminated just like other viruses in this case.

    Is UV-C light dangerous?

UV-C light is not harmless, but if applied in the right way it is not dangerous. The intensity of the light decreases with increasing distance. Glass also blocks the radiation of UV light. This means that there is no danger outside the car. The device should therefore only be switched on when there is no one left in the car. To ensure this, a radar has been installed that switches off the lamp as soon as movement is detected in the car. The radar is adjusted in such a way that movements outside the vehicle have no influence on it.

How do I know if the UV-C Disinfection Device is working?

The device has been developed, tested and produced in the Netherlands. Optimal light output is achieved through optimized design. The results have been measured with calibrated test equipment and with the help of this an optimal operating time can be calculated because it depends on the energy that reaches the surface to be cleaned.

How long should the UV-C lamp be switched on?

This is at least 15 minutes for the interior of a passenger car or small light commercial vehicle. With a large truck cabin it is at least 30 minutes.

Can the UV-C lamp also be used for disinfecting people or animals?

No, that is not possible and is not recommended. UV-C radiation can be harmful to living organisms in the long term. That is why Progress’s UV-C Disinfection Device is also equipped with an automatic switch-off when movements are detected.

What is the lifespan of the UV-C lamp?

The lamp (10 watt) lasts an average of 6.000 sessions of 15 minutes at a time. Replacement is easy to do yourself.

Does the UV-C technology also work in frost or in a hot interior?

The device has been designed to function between -35 and +75 degrees Celsius.
